Some disciplines are divided into smaller groups of specialties. The search tool provides the optional Specialty selector to narrow the search to opportunities in those specialties. Until a discipline is selected for the search, the specialty selector is disabled and contains a message to that effect:

Once a discipline has been selected, the specialty selection list is automatically updated to contain the list of applicable specialties under that discipline.

You may select any, all, or none of the listed specialties to include in your search.
To select any single specialty, click the one of interest.
To select multiple specialties, hold down the Ctrl key and click the specialties to include in the search. (You can also use the Shift key to select a continuous "block" of specialties.)
To "de-select" any specialties click a single specialty, then hold down the Ctrl key and click the specialty again. No items will be selected. This is the equivalent of selecting "ALL" from the top of the list, or of selecting all of the items in the list.
If the selected discipline does not have any specialties, the specialty selection list is disabled and contains a message to that effect:
